10-Day Tanzania Great Migration Safari, Lake Natron, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport, where your Mnava Tours and Safari representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha.
Depending on your arrival time, relax at the lodge or explore the surrounding area. Later, meet your safari guide for a briefing about the route, wildlife viewing, and the activities planned for the coming days.

After breakfast, depart Arusha and travel towards Lake Natron through scenic landscapes, traditional Maasai settlements, and the dramatic Great Rift Valley region.
Upon arrival, explore the surroundings of this remarkable alkaline lake, famous for its flamingos and striking volcanic scenery. Enjoy a guided walk towards the lakeshore when conditions permit, or visit the nearby Ngare Sero Waterfalls for a nature excursion.
Admire views of Ol Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano considered sacred by the Maasai people.

Enjoy breakfast before continuing your journey towards the northern Serengeti, travelling through remote landscapes and rural communities. Enter the Serengeti and begin your first game drive in this remarkable wildlife destination.
Explore the Lobo area, known for its rocky outcrops, open grasslands, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and predators. Depending on the season, you may encounter migrating wildebeest and zebras as they move across the ecosystem.
Continue to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the African wilderness.

Spend a full day exploring Northern Serengeti National Park in search of the Great Wildebeest Migration and the region's resident wildlife.
Your guide will select suitable game-drive routes based on seasonal animal movements and recent sightings. Look for wildebeest, zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, and crocodiles near river habitats.
During the migration season, you may have an opportunity to witness wildebeest gathering near river crossings. However, river crossings are unpredictable and cannot be guaranteed.
Return to your lodge in the evening after a rewarding day of wildlife photography and exploration.

After breakfast, travel towards Central Serengeti, enjoying wildlife viewing along the way. The central region, particularly the Seronera Valley, is renowned for its resident wildlife and diverse habitats.
Spend time searching for lions resting among rocky kopjes, leopards in riverine vegetation, cheetahs in open grasslands, and herds of antelopes and zebras. Your guide will make stops for photography and wildlife observation throughout the day.
Arrive at your tented camp in the evening and enjoy dinner beneath the African sky.

Begin the morning with further wildlife viewing in the Serengeti before departing towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery from open savannah to elevated highlands. Your guide will share insights into the region's wildlife, conservation, and the relationship between local communities and the surrounding environment.
Arrive at your accommodation in the Ngorongoro highlands or Karatu area, where you can relax and prepare for the following day's crater safari.

After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend to its wildlife-rich floor for an unforgettable game drive.
Explore open grasslands, freshwater pools, and woodland habitats while searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and the endangered black rhino. The crater offers outstanding wildlife-viewing opportunities in a spectacular natural setting.
Enjoy a picnic lunch during the game drive before ascending the crater and continuing to Lake Eyasi for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, discover the cultural heritage of the Lake Eyasi region with a locally guided visit to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities.
Learn about traditional hunting and gathering practices, local craftsmanship, beadwork, and pastoral traditions. Activities depend on community consent, availability, and local arrangements.
After the cultural experience, begin your journey back to Arusha, enjoying the scenery along the way. Arrive at your hotel in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Depart for the Kilimanjaro foothills for a day of nature and cultural discovery.
Start with a guided walk to Materuni Waterfalls, where you can admire the lush vegetation and cascading water. Continue to a local coffee farm to learn about traditional coffee preparation, from harvesting and processing to roasting and tasting.
Later, travel to Kikuletwa Hot Springs, also known as Chemka Hot Springs, for a refreshing break in the natural pool, conditions permitting. Return to Arusha in the late afternoon or evening.

Enjoy a guided Arusha city tour, subject to your flight schedule. Visit the local market to experience everyday Tanzanian life, explore the Cultural Heritage Centre for African art and crafts, and stop at the famous Clock Tower area.
You may have time to shop for souvenirs or enjoy a final meal before your driver transfers you to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your onward journey.
If your flight departs early, the city tour may need to be shortened or omitted.
