5-Day Serengeti Calving Season Safari & Ngorongoro Crater Adventure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight to the Serengeti, or begin with a road transfer according to your confirmed package. Upon arrival, meet your professional safari guide and begin exploring the vast Serengeti plains.

Enjoy game drives in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and other wildlife. Take in the expansive landscapes and enjoy a scenic sunset before heading to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Begin the day with breakfast before enjoying a morning game drive through Central Serengeti. Watch for resident wildlife around rivers and open grasslands as your guide searches for rewarding sightings.

Continue toward Ndutu, an important seasonal gathering area for the Great Migration. During the calving season, the short-grass plains attract huge herds of wildebeest and zebras, with opportunities to observe newborn calves and predators in their natural habitat.

Arrive at camp in time for dinner and a relaxing evening beneath the African sky.

After an early breakfast, set out for an exciting full-day game drive across Ndutu's open plains, seasonal lakes, and acacia woodland. This is the heart of your calving season safari, offering excellent opportunities to photograph wildebeest herds, newborn calves, zebras, gazelles, and the predators that follow them.

Keep watch for lions resting in the grass, cheetahs scanning the plains, and hyenas moving between herds. Your guide will adjust the route according to wildlife movements and road conditions.

An optional sunrise hot-air balloon safari with a bush breakfast may be arranged in advance at an additional cost.

Return to camp for dinner and your second overnight stay in Ndutu.

Enjoy breakfast before departing Ndutu for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the crater for a guided game drive across its grasslands, wetlands, and woodland habitats.

Look for elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, lions, and, with luck, the endangered black rhino. The crater's varied habitats support an impressive concentration of wildlife within a dramatic volcanic landscape.

Pause for a picnic lunch at a designated site before continuing your wildlife exploration. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and proceed to your overnight accommodation in the Karatu area or another agreed location.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning before beginning your return journey to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be time for a scenic drive through the Tanzanian countryside or a short stop for local souvenirs.

Your driver-guide will transfer you to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, bringing your five-day Tanzanian wildlife adventure to a close.
